Dear friends of ASSITEJ,

October is a month of the festivals. From Nicaragua to Turkey, from Poland to South Africa, TYA practitioners presents their work for children and young people in the events that follow one another from week to week. ASSITEJ International on its web site register the festivals in the Festival guide, make the announcements, but also, give the designation for the ASSITEJ International Festival. This October, festival “100, 1000, 1000000 Stories” in Bucharest, Romania, received the designation. Do not hesitate to read the criteria for the designation and request the name ASSITEJ International Festival or ASSITEJ International Project for your event. With the designation you will get additional  publicity and visibility worldwide. I also remind you that you have the possibility of advertising on ASSITEJ International web site. Do not miss that chance! Please contact: ASSITEJ International General Secretariat, sec.gen@assitej-international.org

Designations for your projects and festivals are ASSITEJ International products and are designed for better communication between organization and the members, as are all the other products of the association:

The ASSITEJ Book 2008/2009

Catalogue of Scripts

One of the tasks set by the 14th ASSITEJ General Assembly in Seoul, 2002, for the new Executive Committee was to establish ways of facilitating the exchange of scripts between our members. With so many dramatists writing so many fantastic scripts for our young audiences, this was a big task!" (Jeremy Turner) But the Catalogue of Scripts is here! Do use the plays national centers are offering for your repertoires, or submit the plays you would like to propose to others.

The Newsletter

is our main tool for communication. Therefore I invite you to send the information about your activity to your National center. We need to get them the last week in a month in order to publish them the first week of the next. You can also post the news directly on the web site using the password that every national center has.

Use and enjoy our products, and participate actively in the life of the association. The next big event in which whole world of theatre for children will participate is:

International Theatre for Children and Young People World Day, March 20th, 2010.

The 20th of March is the ASSITEJ International World Theatre Day. Every theater in 78 member countries celebrate that day of theatre art for children and young people, and on that day every national center organize special events or happenings to celebrate and promote arts for children. Messages, international and national are read and special performances are organized. It is a wonderful opportunity for promotion of our work and we don’t want to miss that opportunity in 2010 either.

I invite all members to start planning the celebration, and inform the secretariat about the planned activity at least one month before the celebration, for the March edition of the Newsletter. Do use the ASSITEJ logo, and designations in your printed material. If you need any assistance advice or support, do not hesitate to contact ASSITEJ Secretariat. From our side, you will be provided with international message and special material we shall design and produce for you for that day.

More information about the celebraion of the World Day you will find on ASSITEJ International web site
