November 2009Dear friends of ASSITEJ The November issue of the ASSITEJ International Newsletter brings you a lot of interesting information from all over the world. This illustrates the growing activity of its members, as well as their interest to publish this information in our courier and our web site. We are strongly supporting you in this and are looking forward to receiving even more such news for the issue in December. New Office for ASSITEJ International The Secretariat has moved to a new office located at Preradovićeva 44, Zagreb, Croatia. The office offers the possibility to create and implement various programs that should contribute to the popularization of theater for young audiences. The office of ASSITEJ International will open its doors for public use, as well as found a library, offer a place for different meetings, seminars and small workshops, organize public readings of new plays, and will be opened for any kind of communication with the artists and everybody interested in theatre for young audiences. I
invite you to take advantage of this opportunity. Send us your
publications, journals on children's theatre that you are regularly
publishing, new editions of books, your promotional materials or
anything else that can make our library more interesting. We are
looking forward to receiving your contributions. International Theatre for Children and Young People World DayWe invite you to start preparations for the celebration of the International Theatre for Children and Young People World Day, on March 20th 2010. Please do inform us about your plans and your ideas. The message for 2010 will be written by Orna Porat, a doyenne of Israeli theater for children and young people, director and founder of National Theater for Children and Youth. CroatiaThe awards of the 12th Meeting and Festival of ASSITEJ Croatia On October 17th 2009 in Cakovec, an award
ceremony closed the 12th Meeting of Professional Theatres for Children
and Young People of the Croatian Centre ASSITEJ. The award for the best
play went to The Question of Honor by Lutz Hübner, produced

This programme will work to build a new generation of theatre makers
