Dear ASSITEJ members,

Here is some important information for the General Assembly

We kindly ask you to study the materials in order for your country’s delegation to be well prepared and have an active role.

Bids for ASSITEJ Artistic Gathering 2019 from Croatia, France and Norway

Bids for World Congress 2020 from Japan

Bidding for ASSITEJ Artistic Gathering 2021 is open!

We will be accepting bids for Artistic Gatherings up to the 15th May. These bids will be made public as soon as they are received, they will be evaluated by the EC during the meetings in Cape Town prior to the Congress, and presented to the General Assembly during the Congress.

Membership Fees

We kindly ask you to pay any debts regarding your membership fee before May 20 so that you are able to participate and vote accordingly.

Those who are not up to date with their fees will not be allowed to take part in the General Assembly.

Any doubts or concerns regarding this subject please contact the Secretary General and Treasurer.


Please let us know if you are planning to attend the 19th ASSITEJ World Congress, and who the members of your delegation will be for the General Assembly by May 5th.

Individual Members

We would like to remind you that Individual Membership is only granted for three years as established in the ASSITEJ Constitution.

If by May 2017 you have already been an Individual Member for three years, and have been able to reunite with other companies, theatres and professionals in your country, please send the Secretary General your application to become a National Center.

If this is not yet the case, we encourage you to send us a short report on your activities and reapply as an Individual Member.

Answers to these applications will be delivered after the World Congress.

Voting by Proxy

Remember that if you are not able to attend the General Assembly, you are permitted to vote by proxy.

Please keep the following information from the ASSITEJ Constitution in mind:

9.2.2 Voting by proxy is permitted, and the proxy must be given in writing.
-A centre or network wishing to transfer its proxy must do so in writing.
-A delegation from a national centre or a network can hold proxy for only one other national centre or network.
-A national centre or network with full membership can hold proxy for any full or corresponding member.
-A national centre or network with corresponding membership can hold proxy only for a national centre or network with corresponding membership.

The center needs to be requested to hold the proxy and the Secretary General must be informed.
