🗓 15 – 24 November 2019

Interested in showcasing your project or performance during ŻiguŻajg International Arts Festival for Children and Young People?

Since its inception in 2011 ŻiguŻajg has grown from strength to strength to become a cornerstone of the cultural calendar both in Malta and internationally. The ten-day multidisciplinary programme attracts over 20,000 people and 150 artists every year.

In testimony to the work done, the Festival was, in 2018, awarded the Premju għall-Arti (National Arts Award) for Best Artistic Programme and recognition from the European Festivals Association (EFFE) for being  “generally strong in artistic quality and scores high in European and international engagement and community involvement”.

ŻiguŻajg also caters for the numerous professionals who visit yearly from across the globe with tailored delegates packages, thus creating opportunities for discussions, collaborations and networking.

How to Apply

Those interested in pitching their creative project(s) for the Festival are kindly asked to send a proposal to ziguzajg@kreattivita.org before Sunday 13 January 2019 with the following details:

  • Name of Project
  • Creative Team bios
  • Project Concept
  • Photos of the Project (if applicable)
  • Trailer/s and/or Video/s of the full project (if applicable)
  • Technical Rider
  • Budget forecast

Most projects presented as part of ŻiguŻajg are selected and invited after being spotted by the Festival Director and representatives of the Festival creative team during other festivals. Nonetheless, since watching projects in person is not always possible due to time and cost constraints, the Festival has an annual open call for proposals which is made available at the end of each edition.

Decisions on the received proposals are at the sole discretion of the Festival creative team and made in consideration of a number of factors namely the yearly programme theme, artistic quality, budget, technical requirements and other logistics. If the project proposed is considered of interest for inclusion in the Festival programme, you will be duly informed by email.

The ŻiguŻajg 2019 call is open from 16th November 2018, until Sunday 13th January 2019.

The 9th edition of ŻiguŻajg is scheduled from the 15th-24th November 2019, in Valletta and Gozo. More information about the Festival can be found on the website and Facebook page.
