ASSITEJ Russia Informal Meeting in Sochi
In the middle of December (from 16th to 17th) 2018, an enlarged meeting of ASSITEJ Russia’s board was held in Sochi on the Black Sea coast in the “Actor” House of Recreation belonged to the Russian Theatre Union. The meeting had an informal mode with invitations to more than 30 professionals in the field of TYA and representatives of theatre companies from various Russian places.
Among them were: Adolf Shapiro (ASSITEJ Russia president), Tatiana Bobrova (ASSITEJ Russia vice-president, member of ASSITEJ International EC, ), Marina Medkova (ASSITEJ Russia general secretary), Galina Kolosova (ASSITEJ International Honorary Member), Boris Granatov (art director of the Vologda TYA), Mikhail Bartenev (dramatist, art director of the Golden Turnip festival), Marina Kornakova (managing director of the “Harlequin”, Russian National award and Festival of theatre art for children), Roman Feodory (art director of the Krasnoyarsk TYA), Konstantin Kuchikin (art director of the Khabarovsk TYA), Aleksey Logachev (chief director of the Saratov TYA), Aleksey Kriklivy (chief director of the theatre Globus, Novosibirsk), Varvara Korovina (programmer of the MARSHAK festival, Voronezh), Olga Zaets (programmer of the MINIFEST festival, Rostov-on-Don), and others.
The meeting was also attended by general secretaries of the Russian centres of international theatre organizations: Alla Zorina (AITA/IATA), Inna Mirzoyan (OISTAT), and Anastasia Mashtakova (UNIMA).
Participants shared their experiences in the practice of international cooperation, told about their plans and problems, and became acquainted with ASSITEJ activities and projects. Particular attention was paid to events dedicated to the World Day of Theatre for Children and the campaign “Take a Child to the Theatre, Today” with promising proposals.
The informal meeting in Sochi turned out to be friendly and warm. The weather on its part helped that – when snowy Moscow was under minus 14C degrees, in Sochi it was sunny 14 plus.
