TYA Seminar in Uberlândia (Minas Gerais)
Trupe de Truões (a theatre group and also a Regional Representative of CBTIJ/ASSITEJ Brasil based in Uberlândia) has just finished its successful 5th TYA National Seminar, at its venue Ponto dos Truões and partner institutions Uberlândia Federal University and Sesc Uberlândia. During two days (November 8 and 9), theatre practitioners and researchers from nine Brazilian states (Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Santa Catarina, Bahia, Goiás, Amapá, Piauí and Ceará) and Brasília (Federal District) participated in round tables, communications and performances. The Seminar was sponsored by Minas Gerais State Government.
 
FESTECRI – A new theatre festival
Porto Alegre (Rio Grande do Sul) has a new TYA festival: FESTECRI. Performances and round tables were held at the historic São Pedro Theatre. In early October, Cleiton Echeveste (chair of CBTIJ/ASSITEJ Brasil board) and Viviane Juguero (coordinator of the Regional Representation of CBTIJ/ASSITEJ Brasil in Porto Alegre) participated in a meeting about national and international theatre networks. The Festival is curated by theatre director and playwright Dilmar Messias and produced by Primeira Fila Produções. The first edition of the Festival was sponsored by Porto Alegre Airport and Vero/Banrisul.
 
FIBRA – A new network of festivals
A new network of Brazilian International TYA Festivals has just been released: FIBRA. The network gathers five festivals, among the most important ones in the country: Paideia (São Paulo), Primeiro Olhar (São Paulo and Brasília), FIL (Rio de Janeiro), TIC (Fortaleza) and Espetacular (Curitiba). In early October, the network had a meeting in Rio de Janeiro, where Noel Jordan (from the Edinburgh TYA Festival) was invited to share his expertise. CBTIJ/ASSITEJ Brasil was represented by Paulo Merisio (Board member). The meeting was sponsored by Programa Pontes, Oi and the British Council.
