We are proud to present you with the very first edition of a series of Newsletters which will be distributed to all ASSITEJ centres (for further distribution to the national memberships), but the Newsletters will also be sent directly to other organisations, institutions and private persons who have an interest in following the preparations of - and hopefully - attending the biggest and most important triennial event for children¤s theatre of all the world:

THE 17th ASSITEJ WORLD CONGRESS AND PERFORMING ARTS FESTIVAL FOR YOUNG AUDIENCES

in Copenhagen and Malmoe 20 – 29 May 2011.

On this very day – June 20th 2009 (with exactly one year and eleven months to the opening of the Congress) we also launch the official ASSITEJ-2011 WEB-SITE:

With your help and support we want to create a Congress which truly and comprehensively reflects and reflects upon the quality and diversity, the relevance and importance and the actual state and significance of children’s theatre in the world today.

We strive to make an event which is genuinely inclusive – in the sense that all the world should be presented and represented, that all ASSITEJ-centres and individuals will be encouraged to contribute and that information, communication and open-mindedness will be key-words in the preparations for and the running of the Congress.

The 17th ASSITEJ WORLD CONGRESS 2011 will be a festive celebration of performing arts for young people in the world.

We invite you to put on your best shoes and dance with us.
