ASSITEJ Newsletter for March 2010

Golden Jubilee of the ASSITEJ-Newsletter
Once upon a time there was no comunication. This was the time of cold war. Between West and East there was a wall. And this was the official policy of the world for decades. But inofficially there were people with an artistic background and a philanthropic idea: Theatre for Children and Young People. These theatre makers were very much interested in communication because theatre is communication. And especially the young generation needs to communicate. This was the time of founding ASSITEJ, a worldwide organisation of communication: About theatre, about kids and teenagers, about artistic questions, about the future of our life. ASSITEJ is a network of changing theory and practice, performances and repertoires, festivals and publications. And a network is the addition of their members. The ASSITEJ-Newsletter collects the member activities and offers to take part – in the international communication about Theatre for Children and Young People: An information and an invitation, useful – so please use it!
