Afghanistan Bright Stars Organization, Afganistan

Afghanistan Bright Stars is an independent and non-profit organization. Our activities concern children and adolescents. We believe they are the most important and sensitive segment of a society. If we want to make positive change in our society, we should start from and with this generation. We do believe a happy life is the right of all children, far from war and any kind of violence. This belief plays a central role in all activities our organization is involved in.
Afghanistan is a country that has been struggling with war and violence for three decades, which affected all aspects of life, especially children's.
Afghanistan Bright Stars considers this matter and looks for the ways to bring prosperity and peace in children's life. We do believe theatre is one of the best ways we can work on and have a significant effect on children.
We have a group which includes about ten children aged 8 to 16 years old students. This group usually gets together and prepares a performance for occasional ceremonies. Our audiences are students of different schools in Kabul. However the performances are open to the public. To build our capacity and promote our relevant skills, we are enthusiastically looking in participating in international festivals. Beside the technical part, participation in multicultural events opens new horizons for us to learn about different cultures and new ideas for vitalizing and inspiring children's hopes.  Performing at special ceremonies for students, we try to participate in international festivals for children and we have plans on this matter in the near future. .
"Theatre Development Training in Schools" was implemented in Kabul for three years. Afghanistan Bright Stars was one of the participants and implementing partners of this project.
