The Conference with the theme of “Theatre and multiculturalism” was implemented in Baku on November 7-8. Azerbaijani Culture and Tourism Ministry, Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and Azerbaijan Theater Figures Union organized the conference. Almost 150 theatrical figures from 40 countries of the world – theater critics, actors, play directors, artists, and presidents of international theater organizations attended the event. Interesting speeches, plenary sessions, workshops, and several meetings took place within the conference. One of the meetings was held at the State Theatre of Young Spectators.

So, Theatre of Young Spectators (members of ASSITEJ) met with presidents and representatives of the 8 International ASSITEJ National Centers.

Husniyya Mursaquliyeva (General Secretary of ASSITEJ-Azerbaijan), Nijat Kazimov (member of ASSITEJ-Azerbaijan) provided detailed information about National Center, as well as they talked about the importance of the Baku International Theater Conference for Azerbaijan State Theatre of Young Spectators. They also noted that our country hosted the conference for the fourth time.

Sophie Dekanozisvili (President of ASSITEJ Georgia), Leo Vukelic, president of ASSITEJ Croatia, Mina Naik (director of the Indian Puppet Theater), Ali Xosqoftar, Fatemeh Feria, Habib? Meskanlu, Sayid Kazemian, Simin Amirianin (Representatives of ASSITEJ Iran), Ulviya Karaca (Turkish State Theater actor, play director), as well as the members of Azerbaijan National Centre of ASSITEJ attended the meeting and touched on a number of issues which could be implemented in the future.
