For the first time, a Congress of ASSITEJ will happen in Africa, bringing together people from across the world to Cape Town. While staying in one of the most unforgettable multicultural cities in the world, international theatre professionals will be given the opportunity to experience cultural and artistic practices from across Africa and the rest of the world.

The largest international delegation of artists, cultural managers, researchers and theatre professionals will participate to the 19th World Congress at the Cradle of creativity festival, representing, through ASSITEJ’s national centers, networks, over 100 countries.

The program of Cradle of Creativity, which will be released in the next weeks, places children’s cultural rights at the heart of the festival. A unique and multi-cultural program will be proposed with a high proportion of works from across Africa, including international collaborations. Performances and participatory events, as workshops, symposiums, networking programs will take place in many venues, from the City Hall where Nelson Mandela made his first public speech after his release in 1990 to townships and suburbs of Cape Town. International participants will have a unique opportunity to engage with local communities.

Registrations

Registrations to the Congress and the Cradle of Creativity Festival will be launched towards the end of this month. Early bird prices will be proposed to the first registrants.
