Awards granted at the 20th Gathering of Professional Theatres of Children and Youth by the Croatian Assitej Centre 

 

The awards ceremony on Friday evening marked the closure of this year’s, 20th annual, ASSITEJ Gathering in Čakovec. 

From 16 to 20 October 2017, the large audience enjoyed theatre performances for children and youth, put on by theatres from throughout Croatia. The 10 plays performed were chosen by selector Katarina Kolega. The expert jury, consisting of Petra Mrduljaš Doležal, playwright, Olja Lozica, director and Dario Harjaček, director, chose which films were deserving of the awards for the most successful plays in a number of categories.

  1. Award for best score, was awarded to VLATKA PANIĆ for the play MUKA MALOG VUKA (TROUBLES OF THE LITTLE WOLF) of the Mala Scena Theatre from Zagreb.

 

  1. Award for best set design and best costumes was awarded to ZDENKA LACINA for the play BIJELI JELEN (WHITE STAG) of the Branko Mihaljević Children's Theatre from Osijek.

 

  1. Award for lighting was awarded to IGOR ELEK and TAMARA KUČINOVIĆ for the play BIJELI JELEN (WHITE STAG) of the Branko Mihaljević Children's Theatre from Osijek.

 

  1. Two equal awards were awarded for collective acting achievements:
  • Ensemble of the play U ZVIJEZDE (IN THE STARS) of the Split Puppet Theatre
  • Ensemble of the play PREKO SEDAM MORA, PREKO SEDAM GORA (OVER THE SEVEN SEAS, OVER THE SEVEN HILLS) of the Pinklec Theatre Troupe from Čakovec.

 

  1. Award for best actress was awarded to LUCIJA BARIŠIĆ for her excellent performance in the play MUKA MALOG VUKA (TROUBLES OF THE LITTLE WOLF) of the Mala Scena Theatre from Zagreb.

 

  1. Award for best actor was awarded to ZLATKO VICIĆ for his role in the play WANDA LAVANDA of the Rijeka Puppet Theatre.

 

  1. Award for best script was awarded to the playwright team for the play S RAZLOGOM (WITH REASON) of the Pinklec Theatre Troupe and the LOFT Zagreb Puppet Theatre.

 

  1. Award for best dramaturge was awarded to JELENA KOVAČIĆ for the play PREKO SEDAM MORA, PREKO SEDAM GORA (OVER THE SEVEN SEAS, OVER THE SEVEN HILLS) of the Pinklec Theatre Troupe from Čakovec.

 

  1. Award for best direction was awarded to MORANA DOLENC for the play S RAZLOGOM (WITH REASON) of the Pinklec Theatre Troupe and the LOFT Zagreb Puppet Theatre and to ANICA TOMIĆ for the play PREKO SEDAM MORA, PREKO SEDAM GORA (OVER THE SEVEN SEAS, OVER THE SEVEN HILLS) of the Pinklec Theatre Troupe from Čakovec.

 

  1. Award for best overall play was awarded to the play S RAZLOGOM (WITH REASON) of the Pinklec Theatre Troupe and the LOFT Zagreb Puppet Theatre.

 

             

World Collaboration

As part of the World Collaboration programme, this year's guest was Terje Hartviksen, member of the executive board of Assitej Norway. After watching all the plays in our festival, he presented Assitej Norway and the upcoming ASSITEJ Artistic Gathering, to be held in Kristiansand, Norway in 2019.

 

EXHIBITION

Mario Jakšić, member of the Pinklec Theatre Troupe from Čakovec, put on the exhibit entitled “20 years of ASSITEJ – on stage and backstage”. Her photographs were a reminder of all that has happened at our Gatherings over the past two decades, not only on stage, but also backstage. The exhibit was opened on Wednesday, 18 October 2017.

 

ELECTION ASSEMBLY

At the election Assembly of the Croatian Centre ASSITEJ, held in Čakovec on October 20th 2017, new leadership of the society was elected.

The new president of the Croatian ASSITEJ Centre is Romano Bogdan, art director of the Pinklec Theatre Troup. Members elected to the Executive Board are: Miran Hajoš from the Virovitica Theatre, Leo Vukelić from the Tigar Theatre in Zagreb, Iris Pavić Tumpa from the Zadar Puppet Theatre and Morana Dolenc from the LOFT Theatre in Zagreb.

The new supervisory board consists of Ivica Lučić from the Branko Mihaljevića Children’s Theatre from Osijek, Tena Bosek from the Mala Scena Theatre in Zagreb, and Sandra Banić Naumovski from the Dubrava Children's Theatre.
