The ASSITEJ Artistic Gathering (AAG) is the international movement’s largest and most important gathering of professionals working within the field of performing arts for young audiences. It takes place every year between the triennial ASSITEJ Word Congress and is hosted in different parts of the world.

In 2019, the gathering took place in Kristiansand, hosted by ASSITEJ Norway. The theme of the festival, “Confronting the Present” posed the question, “What is the status of the performing arts for young audiences around the world today?”. The festival encompassed an artistic programme, a professional programme, the ITYARN academic conference, and a social programme.

Dialogue has captured the entire event through a range of multimedia, with many resources being published during the event itself. These are all available to view online at: www.performingdialogue.com.

It is the second time Dialogue has documented an ASSITEJ event: in 2017, over 100 documented items were produced by Dialogue during the ASSITEJ World Congress in Cape Town, South Africa.

We’re also very excited this year to have livestreamed some of the events online, in partnership with HowlRound Theatre Commons and Kilden Teater og Konserthus.
These are available to watch right here!
