Children came to the festival of Avignon, invited by Scènes d’enfance – ASSITEJ France : they filled us with full joy and hope

In a normal year, the event “Avignon Enfants à l’honneur” likely gathers 350 to 400 children from everywhere in France, and, sometimes, from abroad. Yet, there was, in our minds, not the slightest regret to welcome “only” 163 children from July 13 to 16. In spite of all the uncertainties, we have managed to propose them a full program of shows, workshops, dance, leisure, discoveries, within the walls of Avignon, in the incomparable atmosphere of the renowned festival. But the magic, and it was really about it, was their own. It is to their pleasure to be there, and to participate, that we owe the end of this year in the energy and the desire to move forward. If all goes well, we will meet again next year for a “normal” edition, with more children, more shows, and a delegation of international professionals.
